All teachers have been training and have completed an advanced yoga study program.

 

Nichole Baker
Nichole is a certified Iyengar instructor and has been teaching for 15 years. She has traveled all over and studied with many senior Iyengar teachers. Nichole started taking classes in 1992 to get more out of her workout routine and loved the way it made her feel more flexible in her body but also more alert in her mind. She is also a hairstylist and has cut hair for over 27 years you can call her to talk about yoga or to set up a hair appointment at 601-209-6325. Nicole's favorite poses:

"I like to find my inner balance and to help others find theirs, seated asanas can be very challenging and rewarding. It makes you use your core and upper body strength along with balance. The first and second pose is Ubyaya padangusthasana, then Bakasana, and Eka Hasta Bhujasana."


Barbara Pigott
Barbara became involved in Iyengar yoga over twenty years ago and has been teaching for sixteen. She has been studying with senior teachers and is enrolled in her 3rd year with Karin O'Bannon, a senior Iyengar teacher, in advanced yoga studies. She is the Director of Social Services with Catholic Charities and says that yoga has allowed her to remain calm in the transitions of life.

"I like Trikonasana because I feel strong and stable when doing it.  It increases confidence and stamina."


Lauren Thompson
Lauren has been a student of Iyengar yoga for over 11 years and has just completed her first year of teaching. She has spent the last year in teacher training working towards her Iyengar certification. She has also studied with many senior Iyengar teachers, attending several workshops over the past few years. Lauren enjoys yoga as a way to maintain her strength and flexibility and finds yoga to be a great way to release and relax from the daily stresses of life. She is also an intern architect with Canizaro Cawthon Davis.

Lauren's favorite poses are adho mukha vrksasana and pincha mayurasana  Inverted poses give her a sense of lightness, freedom and accomplishment. Every year  she continues to improve her ability to maintain the poses by developing greater balance, strength and control.


Kate Nicodemus
Kate has been practicing yoga for the past 13 years. For the past two years she has been trained by Ruth White, a senior advanced certified B.K.S. Iyengar teacher, who lives in England and runs the Ruth White Yoga Centre. Kate has attended many of Ruth´s workshops and a 3-week intensive training at the Greek island of Lesbos. Currently she is working towards her 500 RYT certificate. Her teaching is inspired by accuracy and detailed attention from Iyengar tradition in combination with her love and passion to teach people yoga and help them to gain not only flexibility, better posture and strength, but also to find inner calm and balance. She also has three little girls who love to practice yoga with her and who became her biggest fans and supporters. Kate's favorite poses are:

"Adho mukha savasana - I like because it has so many benefits for the body and it really stretches the whole spine. It is great recuperative asana when tired. I like teaching it because there is so many variations with props you can do and learn something new about it every time you do it.
Urdhva Dhanurasana - I love it because it makes me feel alive no matter what. Huge energizer for the body and mind. I like teaching it because it brings tremendous sense of accomplishment in people and satisfaction."
