Nichole Baker Is the owner of StudiOm Yoga and is a Junior 2 Intermediate Certified Iyengar Teacher
Nichole Baker-Nichole has traveled to India to study with the Iyengar family at their Institute in Pune, she has attended many workshops and conventions with senior teachers , Dean and Rebecca Lerner, Patricia Walden, Randy Just and the late Karin O'Bannon. She has been dedicated to teaching Iyengar Yoga for 22 years and loves how Iyengar Yoga is accessible for everyone regardless of age or ability. Nichole started taking classes in 1992 to get more out of her workout routine. Nichole has Scoliosis and with Iyengar Yoga her back has become stronger and loves the way it makes her feel more flexible in her body but also more alert in her mind.Feel free to contact Nichole for any Yoga questions firstname.lastname@example.org
Lauren Thompson - Lauren is a certified, Introductory II Iyengar yoga teacher. She has been a student of Iyengar yoga for over 15 years and teaching for five years. In preparation for certification assessment, she has participated in teacher training for the past year, and has also studied with many senior Iyengar teachers in various workshops. Lauren enjoys yoga as a way to maintain and improve her strength and flexibility and finds yoga to be a great way to release and relax from the daily stresses of life. She is also an Architect at local firm, Canizaro Cawthon Davis.
Alyssa Sikora- Alyssa has practiced yoga for the past eight years and has been mentored by Nichole for over a year. Attending Teacher Training classes with Randy Just she is working towards becoming a certified Iyengar teacher. Alyssa also studied yoga and meditation at the Satchidinanda Ashram in Virginia in 2013. Alyssa believes in the philosophy of Ahimsa (non- violence) towards all living creatures and upholds a completely plant-based diet. In addition to her passion for yoga, she is a certified Food For Life Instructor with the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine and is studying to be a chef though the Rouxbe Cooking School.
Johnny Johnston- Immediately following his enlistment in the Marines, Johnny discovered the healing powers of yoga. Although he has practices many different styles of yoga, it was the introduction to the Iyengar Yoga tradition that transformed his yoga practice from simple movements to keen awareness of each pose. Johnny is passionate about reaching optimum health and sharing his knowledge to bring awareness to the growing health concerns of our society through yoga, diet and mindfulness
Stephanie Mimms-Stephanie Mimms has practiced various forms of yoga off and on for 5 years, but adopted a regular practice when she discovered Iyengar Yoga 2 years ago. For the past year she has been mentored by Nichole, participated in yoga teacher training with Randy Just and attended workshops to improve her knowledge and practice. Stephanie also has a career as an Occupational Therapist working with stroke patients, where she incorporates yoga into her sessions to improve body awareness and postural control. "We all have poor posture and weakness on some level, it is just more apparent after you've experienced a stroke. If yoga can work for my patients , it can work for everyone." Stephanie also appreciates the meditative aspect of yoga."it is wonderful to witness a student progress from attempting a pose, to feeling successful in that pose, to finding peace in the pose, and most importantly,taking that peace into all aspects of life"
